Shutdown venting of the two waste bunkers in Leudelange successfully completed

In 2025, SAR Process and Environmental Technology successfully completed another project in Luxembourg. For our client Sidor in Leudelange, the owner of the facility, we implemented the shutdown ventilation system for the waste bunkers at the thermal waste treatment plant in Leudelange. The plant is operated by EEW Energy from Waste Leudelange S.à r.l. The project was commissioned by Reitz Retrofit.

The facility has two waste bunkers. During normal operation, air from these bunkers is supplied to the furnace as combustion air, thereby maintaining the required negative pressure in the bunker. During shutdowns of the incineration line, e.g., during maintenance, the shutdown ventilation system ensures that the negative pressure in the bunker is maintained and that the filtered exhaust air is discharged in a controlled manner.

Scope of Services Provided by SAR:

  • Planning and implementation of the complete electrical and control systems
  • Visualization and programming in PCS7 using the VGB-compliant power plant library PPL (https://www.ppl.biz/)
  • Construction and delivery of the control cabinets
  • Cabling and grounding of the plant components
  • Commissioning and functional testsSAR has been supporting the plant in Leudelange since 2009 in the areas of automation, programming, and commissioning.
