Reduced noise tyres through interlinked robot automation solution from SAR Tire Technology

On the 20th anniversary of TIRE EXPO, the number of visitors was lower than in previous years due to the many travel restrictions imposed by tyre manufacturers. It became clear how vulnerable supply and information chains can be.

Reduction of running noise and vehicle vibrations

The SAR Group had set out to give a live presentation of the latest TIRE module from its automation kit for tyre production. To reduce running noise and vehicle vibrations, foam strips are increasingly being inserted into the tyres.

At its stand, the SAR Group presented an interlinked robot automation solution consisting of the SAR TIRE SEAL (application of adhesive beads) and SAR TIRE FIT (application of a foam strip) modules.

The heart of the application was the newly developed gripper. This ensures that the foam strip is picked up in a targeted and distortion-free manner and, depending on the process, inserted into the tire in a reliable manner.

With this method, different patents of the tire manufacturers can be served.
